Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery provides comprehensive, safe, and effective nursing care to mothers and newborns throughout the antepartum, delivery, and postpartum periods. They collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and support comfort and safety for patients and their families.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients continuously to identify changes in condition and respond promptly.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for mothers and newborns.
• Administer medications and interventions following clinical guidelines and protocols.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum and newborn care, ensuring understanding and comfort.
• Supervise and guide nursing staff and supportive personnel to maintain care standards.
• Document all patient interactions, assessments, and care activities accurately.

Qualifications:

• Valid Registered Nurse license in the applicable state.
• Proven experience in labor and delivery nursing preferred.
• Strong knowledge of obstetrical care, neonatal protocols, and patient safety standards.
• Ability to respond rapidly and effectively in emergent situations.
• Excellent communication and patient education skills.
• BLS and NRP certifications required.
