Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to adult patients in a Medical-Surgical unit with infectious disease requirements. Ensure patient safety, manage complex conditions, and adhere to infection control protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and IV therapies, including titratable drips such as Heparin and antibiotics, following prescribed protocols.
• Monitor patient health status by reading and interpreting telemetry strips and vital signs.
• Collaborate with the charge nurse and house supervisor to coordinate patient care and unit operations.
• Implement infection prevention measures, including isolation and contact precautions, consistent with protocol.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Float to different med-surg units as needed, maintaining flexibility to adapt to staffing requirements.

Qualifications:

• Valid and unexpired driver's license required for compliance.
• Current RN license in good standing.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience in MedSurg and infectious disease management, including isolation, COVID, MRSA, and C-Diff.
• Knowledge of infection control protocols and patient safety procedures.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and handle a fast-paced environment, including holiday and weekend rotations.
