Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in Medical Surgical unit provides direct patient care, collaborates with healthcare teams, and ensures quality standards are maintained within a fast-paced hospital environment. They support patient recovery and safety through skilled clinical interventions and effective communication.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs, telemetry, and other clinical data, including reading strips when experienced.
• Collaborate with physicians, CNA staff, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
• Document patient information accurately in the EMR system and communicate updates effectively.
• Respond promptly to patient needs, including emergencies such as ventilator changes or medication adjustments.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent MedSurg experience, preferably with post-operative, neuro, or ortho patients.
• BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred; ACLS a plus.
• Knowledge of IV therapy including Heparin, Lasix, PCA with MSO4, and other medications.
• Ability to read and interpret strips if experienced; familiarity with IV teams and intubated patient care beneficial.
• Strong assessment skills, ability to work 12-hour shifts, and adapt to floating within related units.
