Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to women throughout the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods. This role includes managing emergency situations, supervising ancillary staff, and supporting families during labor, delivery, and recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, collaborating with the healthcare team.
• Assess fetal and maternal well-being, monitor amniotic fluid, vaginal bleeding, and detect abnormalities.
• Manage perinatal emergencies such as crash C-sections, precipitous deliveries, and shoulder dystocia.
• Assist with epidural placement and monitor maternal and fetal status post-administration.
• Educate patients and families regarding perinatal care, labor processes, and postpartum recovery.
• Document all nursing actions accurately and promptly in the patient’s medical records.

Qualifications:

• Hold an Associate Degree in Nursing (required) or Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
• Possess a current RN license in the practice state.
• Have at least two years of recent labor & delivery nursing experience.
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications.
• Demonstrate clinical competence in managing perinatal emergencies and fetal monitoring.
