Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery Nurse provides expert nursing care to women during the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, including emergency interventions and circulating for C-Sections. This role entails supervising ancillary staff and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal maternal and fetal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess maternal and fetal health through physical, psychosocial, and clinical evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualized, goal-oriented care plans in coordination with the multidisciplinary team.
• Manage perinatal emergencies such as crash C-sections, precipitous deliveries, and shoulder dystocia with appropriate clinical judgment.
• Support pain management strategies, including assisting with epidural placement and monitoring during medication administration.
• Educate patients and families about all stages of perinatal care, tailored to their age, cultural background, and learning needs.
• Document all nursing interventions accurately and timely, evaluating patient responses to treatments.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current RN license in the state of practice.
• Possess at least two years of recent Labor & Delivery experience.
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and advanced fetal monitoring certifications.
• Demonstrate proficiency with EPIC electronic health records.
• Have completed intermediate fetal monitoring coursework.
• Be adaptable to rotating day and night shifts.
