Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for sterilizing, decontaminating, and assembling surgical instruments to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency within a high-volume surgical environment. The role involves supporting various operating rooms and floating within facility scope to meet department needs.

Responsibilities:

• Sterilize and decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment following established protocols.
• Assemble, wrap, and package instruments to prepare for surgical procedures.
• Operate sterilization equipment and monitor sterilization cycles for compliance.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure availability of sterile instruments for procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization processes and inventory.
• Float within scope to support different departments and facilities as needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in a hospital setting.
• Certification from CBSPD and/or HSPA is preferred.
• Familiarity with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, or GYN case types is advantageous.
• Demonstrated knowledge of sterilization, decontamination, and instrument assembly procedures.
• Ability to comply with hospital safety and infection control standards.
• Must possess or be eligible for South Carolina RN license with proof of application or active status.
