Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, and assembling medical instruments and supplies to ensure the safety and efficiency of surgical procedures. The role involves collaboration with surgical teams and maintaining compliance with sterilization standards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform decontamination, sterilization, and assembly of surgical instruments and supplies.
• Monitor and ensure the proper functioning of sterilization equipment and instrumentation.
• Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and inventory levels.
• Collaborate with surgical and clinical staff to meet immediate departmental needs.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and regulatory standards, including AAMI ST79 and CDC guidelines.
• Assist in inventory management and protocol compliance to optimize departmental workflow.

Qualifications:

• Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CBSPD or CRCST certification required).
• Minimum of three years of sterile processing experience in a healthcare setting.
• Demonstrate proficiency in decontamination, preparation, sterilization, and case cart assembly.
• Familiarity with electronic instrument tracking and inventory management systems preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and follow strict safety protocols.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
