Job Description
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse specializes in providing comprehensive oncology patient care in an inpatient setting, with a focus on leukemia and lymphoma. This role involves evaluating patient needs, implementing tailored nursing interventions, and collaborating with medical staff to ensure quality treatment delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients’ health status and identify individualized care needs through thorough evaluation and diagnosis.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate patient-specific care plans based on initial and ongoing assessments.
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions, including IV insertion and phlebotomy, to support treatment plans.
- Manage and document patient care activities in accordance with clinical standards and acuity levels.
- Advocate for evidence-based practices and contribute to the adoption of innovative care strategies.
- Provide patient-centered care aligned with professional nursing models and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Hold an ASN or higher nursing degree; BSN preferred.
- Possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience in acute adult oncology, specifically in leukemia and lymphoma cases.
- Maintain current BLS, ACLS, and NJ State Registered Nurse licenses or multi-state compact license.
- Demonstrate proficiency in IV insertion, phlebotomy, and basic nursing skills.
- Possess chemo certification with ONS preferred; telemetry certification is a plus.
