Job Details

Job Summary:
Provides sterile and technical support during surgical procedures to ensure patient safety and optimal operative outcomes. Works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to assist in maintaining a sterile environment and managing surgical instrumentation.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques, applying knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and instrumentation.
• Ensure all surgical items are properly packaged, sterilized, and within expiration to maintain safety standards.
• Monitor the sterile field to prevent contamination and alert the team of any breaches or issues requiring corrective action.
• Assist with patient transports, room turnovers, and preparing the operating room for procedures.
• Maintain current knowledge of new technologies, surgical instruments, and procedures to support clinical excellence.
• Support team communication through effective participation in Time Out processes, briefings, and debriefings.

Qualifications:

• Certified Surgical Technologist or Licensed Surgical Technologist in Colorado required.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Completion of a surgical technologist program or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of AORN standards and sterile field management.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and work in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Strong communication skills, with fluency in English.
