Job Summary:
The Surgical Technician (Surg Tech) is a vital member of the surgical healthcare team, providing technical support to surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia providers during operative procedures. The role involves preparing and maintaining sterile supplies and instruments, ensuring compliance with aseptic techniques, and supporting specimen handling and sterilization processes.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms by arranging supplies and instruments in accordance with surgical protocols.
• Pass sterile instruments and supplies to surgeons efficiently during procedures.
• Maintain strict aseptic techniques to prevent contamination throughout procedures.
• Operate sterilization equipment, validate sterilization cycles, and ensure packaged supplies meet sterility standards.
• Inspect and decontaminate surgical instruments after use, ensuring proper cleaning and functioning for future cases.
• Restock supplies, check for outdates, and ensure the availability of necessary equipment and materials for upcoming surgeries.

Qualifications:

• Certified Surgical Technician (CST) with at least 5 years of current experience in surgical settings.
• Must be registered as a Surg Tech with the State of Colorado.
• Demonstrate knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical instrumentation, and aseptic practices.
• Possess physical stamina to stand for long periods, perform heavy lifting, and work in high-stress environments.
• Exhibit excellent attention to detail and ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
