Job Details

Job Summary:
Assist in the perioperative care of patients undergoing elective surgical procedures within a busy OR department. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and collaborate with surgical teams to deliver efficient, high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up equipment for scheduled procedures.
• Assist surgeons and scrub nurses by passing instruments and anticipating their needs during surgery.
• Maintain sterile field and ensure compliance with infection control standards throughout procedures.
• Monitor patient vitals and respond to intraoperative changes promptly.
• Document surgical procedures, patient information, and equipment usage in the electronic medical record.
• Support post-operative patient transfer and provide equipment cleaning as per facility policies.

Qualifications:

• Hold current CST or ORT certification from NBSTA or DORA.
• Demonstrate a minimum of 6 months recent acute care surgical experience.
• Possess BLS certification, with additional certifications preferred.
• Have proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Exhibit excellent communication skills and a team-focused attitude.
