Job Summary:

Provide specialized patient care in a psychiatric adult unit, ensuring safety, adherence to protocols, and quality support to patients with complex mental health conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Perform safety and room checks to monitor patient well-being and environment safety.
• Obtain vital signs, weights, and blood glucose levels as part of routine assessment.
• Observe patients closely, conducting rounds every 15 minutes to ensure safety and respond to needs.
• Assist nursing staff with duties such as ADLs, phlebotomy, EKGs, and patient documentation.
• Support patient care during emergencies, including managing seclusion and using physical restraints if necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of patient observations and interventions per unit guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid PCT certification and BLS certification.
• Demonstrate at least 1 year of psychiatric experience in an adult inpatient setting.
• Be comfortable working with first-time travelers and diverse patient populations.
• Show proficiency in vital signs, blood glucose checks, and basic phlebotomy.
• Carry de-escalation training and the ability to handle behavioral crises effectively.
• Be flexible to float across various adult and child psychiatric units as needed.
