Job Description
Job Summary:
Provide specialized occupational therapy services to patients in outpatient and acute care settings. Develop and implement treatment plans to improve patient functioning and independence while supporting interdisciplinary team efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients’ functional abilities through formal and informal testing measures to determine neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, and cognitive status.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment data and patient tolerance, coordinating with physicians for approval.
- Submit and update treatment regimes in the plan of care, co-signing verbal orders as necessary.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on pathology, prognosis, and treatment options, including rest, exercise, modalities, and interventions.
- Supervise and mentor Occupational Therapist Assistants, aides, and students according to regulatory standards.
- Document patient responses and condition changes accurately for billing, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.
Qualifications:
- Credentialed as an Occupational Therapist with current licensure and NBCOT certification.
- Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy required; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of outpatient experience highly preferred; recent graduates considered.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and demonstrate organizational skills.
- Compliance with OSHA standards and ability to handle infectious materials safely.
