Job Summary:
Provides advanced respiratory care services to adult and geriatric patients, ensuring optimal treatment for respiratory diseases. Operates independently and supervises delegated tasks to meet patient needs in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities:

• Administer respiratory therapies including aerosol and oxygen treatments with precise documentation.
• Assess and evaluate the appropriateness of prescribed therapies, recommending adjustments as necessary.
• Draw arterial blood gases and interpret results to inform treatment plans.
• Manage ventilator support and provide care for ventilator-dependent patients.
• Assist in training and supervising nursing staff and new employees on respiratory procedures and equipment.
• Ensure all respiratory therapy equipment is inspected, maintained, and properly functioning during rounds.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Hold a valid NBRC-RRT or NBRC-CRT credential.
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Obtain and sustain Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 90 days of hire.
• Possess required certifications in ACLS and PALS within 90 days of employment.
• Preferred: Hold a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
