Job Summary:

Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care to patients by assessing needs, initiating therapy, and monitoring response to treatment. The role supports emergency and critical care workflows while ensuring compliance with clinical standards and required certifications.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ respiratory status and determine appropriate therapy based on clinical findings.
• Administer oxygen therapy, ventilator support, aerosol treatments, and other prescribed respiratory interventions.
• Monitor vital signs, oxygenation, ventilation parameters, and patient tolerance, escalating concerns promptly.
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and related analysis as clinically indicated.
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment, ensuring safe operation and documentation.
• Follow infection control, medication safety, and documentation requirements for all respiratory treatments.

Qualifications:

• Hold active licensure/verification to practice as a Respiratory Therapist (non-negotiable).
• Maintain current BLS certification.
• Maintain current ACLS certification.
• Maintain current PALS and NRP certifications.
• Provide proof of MMR and varicella vaccination/declination.
• Complete credentialing requirements and verification processes without delay; submit documentation (including background and drug screening status as applicable).
