Job Summary:

Performs essential respiratory care services for adult and geriatric patients, ensuring high-quality care in accordance with physician orders and department policies. Works independently and supervises others as delegated, contributing to patient recovery and overall department operations.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and document the appropriateness of prescribed respiratory therapy, including making clinical recommendations.
• Administer aerosol and oxygen therapy, accurately maintaining related charts and patient records.
• Draw arterial blood gases in compliance with policy and physician directives.
• Provide care to ventilator-dependent patients, ensuring optimal respiratory support.
• Assist in departmental record keeping, training, and supervising new staff members.
• Maintain detailed documentation of all care provided and equipment usage.

Qualifications:

• Hold a Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (NBRC-CRT) credential.
• Possess a valid Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license in California.
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Have at least three years of relevant technical experience preferred.
• Be certified in Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred.
