Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a travel position in the IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit at a hospital in Asheville, NC. The role involves providing specialized patient care for cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver acute patient nursing care in the IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit, including monitoring vital signs and managing patient progress.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV drugs, cardiac gtts, and epidural management.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document patient care accurately in the Cerner EMR system following unit policies.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and communicate effectively with patients and families.
• Assist with procedures such as chest tube management, tube feedings, and equipment operation.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in North Carolina or able to obtain licensure.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent stepdown or telemetry experience, preferably in CV surgery or vascular surgery.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Experience with Cerner EMR and cardiac medication management preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and adapt to variable shifts.
