Job Summary:
The Phlebotomist position involves drawing blood from inpatient and outpatient settings to facilitate laboratory tests and support medical diagnoses. The role requires precise specimen collection, data entry, and adherence to lab protocols to ensure accurate testing.

Responsibilities:

• Collect blood samples via venipuncture, heel sticks, and finger pokes following established protocols.
• Review and verify patient demographics, orders, and ensure specimen labeling accuracy.
• Prepare and send pathology, cytology, bone marrow biopsies, and fine needle aspirates to the laboratory.
• Input patient information, review reports, and update histology charges in the system.
• Confirm test orders, make necessary adjustments, and ensure proper documentation.
• Maintain safety standards and keep updated on new protocols and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrate at least 1 year of related work experience in phlebotomy or laboratory support preferred.
• Hold current BLS certification or obtain within 3 months of hire date.
• Have a valid driver’s license, preferred.
• Show exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and proficiency with computer systems.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, compassion, and effective communication.
