Job Summary:

A clinical professional responsible for providing specialized perioperative nursing care in the operating room setting. The RN will support surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining sterile environments.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preoperative assessments and prepare patients for surgery according to facility protocols.
• Assist during surgical procedures as a scrub or circulator, maintaining strict sterile technique.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to intraoperative changes promptly.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in the electronic documentation system.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure efficient workflow and patient safety.
• Provide post-operative care instructions and ensure safe patient transfer from the OR.

Qualifications:

• Hold active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
• Possess at least 2 years of current experience in an acute OR environment.
• Demonstrate proficiency in orthopedic, spine, joint replacement, and vascular surgical procedures.
• Be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
• Ability to scrub and circulate for all service lines and handle high-pressure situations.
• Preferably have PALS certification, CNOR credential, or charge nurse experience.
