Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist provides specialized respiratory care services under medical supervision to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies. They are responsible for evaluating patient needs, administering therapies, and managing ventilator equipment to support patient recovery and wellness.

Responsibilities:

• Administer respiratory treatments and therapies in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
• Assist with intubation procedures and set up and manage ventilator equipment.
• Collect and analyze patient data to assess respiratory function and develop individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatment procedures and disease management concepts.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all patient interactions and treatments.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid New Jersey Respiratory Care license.
• Hold a current NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
• Have at least 1 year of recent ICU experience working as a licensed RRT.
• Demonstrate proficiency with ventilator management and intubation support.
• Exhibit strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach.
• Be willing to float to adult ICU, intermediate care, and general care floors.
