Job Summary:

The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides and administers comprehensive respiratory care therapy and supportive equipment under the direction of Respiratory Services leadership, consistent with departmental policies and procedures. The role focuses on evaluating cardiopulmonary needs, delivering patient-centered interventions, assisting with airway and ventilator support, and educating patients and caregivers.

Responsibilities:

• Provide respiratory therapy under medical direction for patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies, including treatment, management, and diagnostic support.
• Assist with intubation and perform ventilator setup, management, and monitoring.
• Assess patient needs by gathering relevant clinical information, supporting testing, and coordinating consultations with healthcare professionals as appropriate.
• Establish rapport with patients, caregivers, and the care team to support goals and optimize the care environment.
• Deliver and document patient/caregiver education based on assessed needs in a clear and understandable manner.
• Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior while completing assigned duties and projects.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current and valid NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Maintain a current and valid New Jersey Respiratory Care license.
• Possess BLS certification (AHA).
• Maintain ACLS certification.
• Maintain PALS certification.
• Demonstrate the ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing patient needs, and work effectively within a team to deliver patient-focused care.
