Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care for postpartum mothers and their newborns within a busy hospital unit. This role involves ensuring patient safety, delivering compassionate support, and educating new parents on newborn care and safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor postpartum mothers and infants, ensuring optimal health outcomes.
• Administer medications, perform procedures such as circumcisions, and manage postpartum care.
• Educate parents on newborn safety, nurturing practices, and health maintenance.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and respond to unit needs.
• Document patient information accurately within electronic medical records.
• Support unit initiatives by adhering to policies, maintaining sterile techniques, and ensuring a caring environment.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license from a recognized licensing board.
• Possess a minimum of 1 year of recent Mother/Baby acute care hospital experience.
• Demonstrate current BLS certification; NRP certification preferred.
• Experience with lactation support and patient education highly valued.
• Exhibit compassionate, patient, and friendly demeanor with strong communication skills.
