Job Summary:
Assists cardiovascular surgeons during open heart and other cardiac procedures in a surgical unit, providing scrub assistance and ensuring optimal patient outcomes under RN supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain open heart instrumentation and supplies for surgeries.
• Assist surgeons before, during, and after cardiac procedures according to clinical standards.
• Maintain sterile environments and ensure proper handling of surgical tools.
• Support patient care activities and provide lunch relief across various service lines if needed.
• Participate in on-call duties approximately every other day and weekend, ensuring coverage.

Qualifications:

• Hold current BLS certification.
• Possess at least 2 years of recent acute CVOR experience.
• Demonstrate ability to scrub and assist in open heart procedures such as CABG, MVR, AVR, and pacemaker placements.
• Experience with minimally invasive cardiac procedures is preferred.
• Ability to adapt to fast-paced, high-volume surgical environments with minimal supervision.
