Job Summary:

Seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse specialized in Labor and Delivery to provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced obstetric unit. This contract position offers a 13-week assignment with night shifts and no on-call obligations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in labor, delivery, and postpartum care of maternal and neonatal patients.
• Monitor fetal and maternal status using GE fetal monitors and other medical equipment.
• Administer medications such as Pitocin, MgSO4, and insulin drips following approved protocols.
• Support high-risk patients with procedures including cervical ripening, c-sections, and cerclage removals.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation within GE Centricity/CPN and Meditech EMR systems.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with current state licensure.
• Recent experience (within the last year) in Labor and Delivery or Mother-Baby units.
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NRP.
• Proven ability to manage patient ratios up to 1:2 during labor and 1:4 for couplets.
• Familiarity with neonatal intensive care or special nurseries preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, proactive attitude.
