Job Summary:
The Certified Medical Assistant (Gastro & Surgical Associates) provides clinical support in an outpatient setting under the supervision of the Office Nurse or Physician. They ensure the smooth operation of clinical tasks while maintaining a professional and compassionate demeanor.

Responsibilities:

• Perform blood draws, injections, child immunizations, lab tests, and other procedures within scope of certification.
• Assist physicians during examinations by taking vital signs and preparing patients.
• Keep exam rooms clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Requisition supplies and maintain accurate medical records, including referrals and lab slips.
• Communicate with patients via phone, providing instructions as directed by the Physician.
• Support nursing procedures and help patients with their needs before, during, and after procedures.

Qualifications:

• Meet at least 2 years of formal Medical Assistant training or certification.
• Possess a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
• Maintain current Medical Assistant certification.
• Hold valid BLS (AHA) certification.
• Demonstrate professionalism, emotional stability, and the ability to handle stressful situations effectively.
