Job Description
Job Summary:
The Certified Medical Assistant (Internal Medicine) is responsible for providing clinical support within an outpatient setting under the supervision of the Office Nurse or Physician. This role ensures smooth patient flow and quality care delivery by performing various clinical procedures and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Perform blood draws, injections, child immunizations, lab tests, and other procedures within the scope of MA certification.
- Assist physicians during examinations by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
- Maintain cleanliness and stock supplies in examination rooms to ensure readiness.
- Record and process patient information, including referral forms, lab slips, and relevant documentation.
- Communicate with patients via phone, providing instructions and follow-up as directed by the physician.
- Support nursing procedures and assist patients in navigating the exam and treatment processes.
Qualifications:
- Possess at least 2 years of experience after completing a formal Medical Assistant curriculum.
- Hold a valid Medical Assistant certification with current BLS (AHA) certification.
- Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
- Exhibit professionalism, personal cleanliness, and a caring demeanor.
- Must be able to handle stressful situations calmly and maintain confidentiality at all times.
