Job Summary:

The CT technologist is responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography scans while providing professional and compassionate patient care. They ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain accuracy in imaging procedures to support diagnosis.

Responsibilities:

• Operate CT imaging equipment to acquire precise diagnostic images according to established protocols.
• Prepare and assemble necessary supplies and contrast media for each procedure, ensuring sterile technique.
• Verify patient identity and assess their ability to tolerate contrast agents, screening for allergies or medication interactions.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families to explain procedures and alleviate anxiety, maintaining privacy and dignity.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper inventory of supplies, cleaning equipment after each use and notifying supervisors of expired or malfunctioning items.
• Assist in coordinating emergent and scheduled procedures, ensuring timely workflow and proper communication with departments.

Qualifications:

• Hold ARRT RT (R) and RT (CT) certification and a NJDEP – New Jersey State X-Ray License.
• Possess a high school diploma or GED and completed a radiography technical training program.
• Maintain current BLS Certification and CPR certification.
• Demonstrate proficiency in venipuncture, power injector protocols, and emergency response procedures.
• Exhibit strong communication skills and attention to detail in imaging and patient care.
• Ability to recognize equipment malfunctions and relay issues promptly.
