Job Summary:
Seeking a skilled First Assist professional for a 13-week contract position in a busy surgical unit. The candidate will support open heart procedures and assist during various surgical cases within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform as a first assistant during surgical procedures, including open heart surgeries.
• Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and sterile field to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with surgeons and nursing staff to facilitate smooth operative processes.
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards.
• Demonstrate flexibility by rotating between day and night shifts, including weekends and on-call duties.
• Maintain current certifications and ensure compliance with all licensing requirements.

Qualifications:

• Possess at least 1 year of experience as a CST/ORT – First Assist in a surgical setting.
• Hold current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Have OR circulator experience, specifically in open heart procedures.
• Ability to work with basic OR equipment, including cautery, video monitors, arthroscopy, and positioning devices.
• Comfortable fulfilling rotating call responsibilities, including nights and weekends.
• Preferred experience in orthopedics, general, gynecology, robotics, urology, vascular, cardiovascular, neuro, or thoracic surgeries.
