Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room provides specialized perioperative nursing care to surgical patients. The role involves preparing patients for surgery, assisting during procedures, and ensuring patient safety throughout the operative process.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ health status and develop individualized care plans before surgery.
• Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment and sterile supplies.
• Assist surgeons and surgical teams during procedures, ensuring adherence to sterile techniques.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to intraoperative needs promptly.
• Document all nursing activities accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Maintain compliance with safety protocols, regulations, and infection control standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid registered nurse license in the state of practice.
• Possess at least 2 years of OR nursing experience, with Epic charting proficiency.
• Complete ACLS and BLS certifications prior to employment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of surgical procedures, aseptic techniques, and patient safety.
• Exhibit excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
