Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Labor and Delivery department, ensuring maternal and neonatal safety and well-being. Supervises and collaborates with healthcare team members to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum stages.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ health status through thorough data collection and ongoing monitoring.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans to support safe labor and delivery processes.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, nurses, and support staff to coordinate effective care delivery.
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn health.
• Delegate and supervise duties of nursing staff to maintain optimal patient care.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety regulations, and clinical standards.

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license applicable to the practicing state.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Minimum of two years recent experience in Labor and Delivery or obstetric unit.
• BLS certification from an approved vendor required; ACLS certification preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of labor, delivery, and postpartum protocols.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
