Job Description
Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures. Oversees and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and quality patient outcomes in the Cath Lab/EP setting.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients’ health status and gather relevant clinical data prior to procedures.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to cardiac cath and EP patients.
- Monitor patient responses during procedures, employing advanced assessment skills.
- Educate patients and families about procedures, post-care, and recovery expectations.
- Coordinate care and communicate effectively with physicians, technicians, and support staff.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, infection control, and facility standards.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
- Minimum of 5 years of recent nursing experience, with specific Cath Lab/EP experience including structural heart, vascular, diagnostic procedures, Impella, ECMO, and emergent cath cases.
- BLS certification and ACLS or ARC-ALS certification required.
- Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical records system.
- Demonstrated ability to work call shifts, including weekends, with flexibility to meet departmental needs.
- Strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and communication skills.
