Job Description
Job Summary:
Provides high-quality adult echocardiography services with specialization in pre-TAVR TTE imaging for patients with critical aortic stenosis. Ensures patient comfort, accuracy of imaging, and adherence to clinical protocols in a demanding cardiovascular environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for echocardiographic examinations, focusing on patient comfort and explaining procedures clearly.
- Set up and operate ultrasound equipment efficiently to ensure timely and accurate imaging.
- Review prior reports, images, and patient charts to confirm studies are comprehensive and meet clinical standards.
- Perform detailed echocardiographic assessments, including valvular evaluation and spectral Doppler analysis, adhering to ASE and IAC guidelines.
- Recognize abnormalities, respond promptly to critical findings, and communicate results effectively to the clinical team.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and inventory for supplies used during procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience performing high-quality adult echocardiograms in a clinical setting, with a minimum of 200 inpatient cases documented.
- Strong proficiency in valvular assessments, spectral Doppler, and Pedoff techniques.
- Must have recent TAVR TTE experience scanning pre-treatment patients with critical aortic stenosis reflected on the resume.
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer credential from ARDMS or CCI, and BLS certification from AHA.
- Ability to work independently, recognize abnormalities, and operate advanced ultrasound systems such as Philips ie33 and Epiq.
- Familiarity with contrast echocardiography, agitated saline studies, and advanced imaging protocols (TEE, stress echo, 3D echo) is preferred.
