Job Description
Job Summary:
Perform high-quality adult echocardiography studies, focusing on TAVR pre-treatment patients with critical aortic stenosis, within a premier cardiac center. Ensure patient comfort and satisfaction while delivering accurate and comprehensive imaging results.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort.
- Set up and operate ultrasound equipment efficiently to conduct timely procedures.
- Review prior reports, images, and patient charts to ensure completeness and accuracy of studies.
- Perform high-level echocardiography, including valvular assessment with spectral Doppler and Pedoff techniques, adhering to ASE and IAC guidelines.
- Recognize abnormalities, respond promptly to critical findings, and communicate results to the medical team.
- Maintain detailed records of exams performed and ensure proper inventory management of supplies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 200 inpatient echocardiography cases documented by an institutional referral.
- Proven experience in TAVR TTE scanning for pre-treatment patients with critical aortic stenosis.
- Certification as a Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Sonographer (ARDMS or CCI).
- Proficiency in valvular assessment, spectral Doppler, contrast echocardiography, and agitated saline studies.
- Ability to work independently and operate Philips ie33 and Epiq systems.
- Strong knowledge of structural heart procedures including TAVR, Mitral Clip, and VAD protocols.
