Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery RN provides specialized care for women during labor, delivery, and postpartum, ensuring safety and comfort through comprehensive nursing practices. The role involves supporting patient choices, promoting vaginal births, and utilizing advanced skills for high-risk situations.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and monitor medications, including MgSO4 and nitrous oxide, according to protocol.
• Support laboring patients by providing personalized, compassionate care and promoting vaginal birth opportunities.
• Document patient status and interventions accurately in CPN and Meditech systems.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including midwives, CRNAs, and obstetricians, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Support high-risk deliveries by attending with NNPs and utilizing fetal monitoring skills.
• Float between departments as needed, maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent labor and delivery nursing experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in fetal monitoring, IUPC insertion, and procedures like FSE and PP hemorrhage management.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
• Maintain compliance with facility policies and unit-specific guidelines.
