Job Description
Job Summary:
Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery to provide comprehensive care in a high-volume maternity unit. This role involves clinical review, patient monitoring, and team collaboration during night shifts, with potential cross-training into Mother/Baby and NICU areas.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to both low-risk and high-risk obstetric patients, including maternal fetal medicine cases.
- Perform fetal monitoring and participate in clinical reviews to ensure optimal maternal and fetal outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and precepted staff to coordinate patient care and respond quickly to emergent situations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, interventions, and compliance with hospital policies.
- Assist in scheduled and unscheduled cross-training to Mother/Baby and NICU units, floating within scope of practice as needed.
- Support a positive patient experience by providing education, emotional support, and ensuring comfort during labor and delivery.
Qualifications:
- Valid nursing license in the assigned state, with pending licenses accepted if in process and verified by Wednesday prior to start.
- Minimum 2 years of recent labor and delivery experience, including high-risk obstetrics and fetal monitoring.
- BLS, Fetal Monitoring, and NRP certifications required; AWHONN intermediate preferred.
- Proven ability to work night shifts (4x12 hours), including weekends and select holidays.
- Ability to cross-train and float between Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, and NICU units.
- Demonstrated familiarity with electronic medical records and compliance documentation.
