Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring the safe and effective management of maternal and neonatal health during childbirth.

Responsibilities:

• Administer direct patient care, including monitoring fetal and maternal status using GE fetal monitoring equipment.
• Manage labor progression by performing cervical exams and titrating medications as necessary.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and coordinate care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EMR system.
• Adhere to unit policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards, including proper attire in hospital scrubs.
• Float to postpartum units for couplet care as needed, providing consistent and compassionate support.

Qualifications:

• Valid California RN license with current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certifications.
• Over 2 years of labor and delivery experience, including managing active labor and performing routine procedures.
• Proven ability to handle high-pressure situations and thrive in organized chaos.
• Strong assessment skills, with familiarity in managing labor, cervical examinations, and medication titration.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with staff and patients.
