Job Description
Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care and patient coordination within the IR/Special Procedures department, ensuring safe and effective delivery of services. Manages patient assessments, monitors vital signs, and operates advanced cardiac and imaging equipment in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patient condition and relevant health data to develop individualized care plans.
- Analyze electrocardiograms (EKGs), hemodynamic parameters, and other clinical data to inform treatment decisions.
- Operate specialized equipment including intra-aortic balloon pumps, cardiac output monitors, and imaging systems.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to coordinate procedures and deliver patient-centered care.
- Document clinical findings, patient responses, and procedure outcomes accurately in electronic medical records.
- Provide post-procedure care and education, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout treatments.
Qualifications:
- Hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Possess at least two years of recent experience in cardiac catheterization, special procedures, or critical care nursing.
- Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Demonstrate proficiency with electrocardiogram (EKG) interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Experience with Impella devices and specialized cardiovascular equipment is required.
- Ability to work variable shifts including weekdays, weekends, and after-hours as scheduled.
