Job Summary:

Provide specialized orthopedic nursing care to pre-operative, post-operative, and trauma patients in a fast-paced hospital setting. Ensure patient safety and optimal recovery through direct intervention and collaboration with healthcare teams.

Responsibilities:

• Administer nursing care to orthopedic patients, including pre-op and post-op assessments and interventions.
• Utilize EPIC electronic medical records system to document patient information accurately.
• Monitor patient progress, identify complications, and implement appropriate interventions.
• Educate patients and families on postoperative care, mobility, and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with surgical teams, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Adhere to safety protocols, including the use of Safe Patient Handling equipment and orthopedic devices.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active nursing license in the state.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of current orthopedic nursing experience.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS preferred.
• Demonstrate experience with Rapid Response Teams and orthopedic trauma.
• Be proficient in EPIC EMR systems.
• Pass the required EKG exam with no more than 2 attempts.
