Job Description
Job Summary:
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures involving radiopharmaceuticals and nuclear imaging equipment. The role requires independent judgment, technical expertise, and adherence to safety protocols to deliver accurate imaging results.
Responsibilities:
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals and calculate appropriate dosages according to protocols.
- Operate nuclear medicine instrumentation such as gamma cameras, PET scanners, and radiation detectors.
- Position patients and monitor during procedures to ensure safety and proper imaging.
- Perform quality control procedures on all nuclear medicine equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow radiation safety regulations, including ALARA principles, to protect patients and staff.
- Maintain accurate documentation of administered radiopharmaceuticals and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Possess 1+ years of Nuclear Medicine experience.
- Hold current certification with ARRT (N) or NMTCB or equivalent.
- Maintain active BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Demonstrate proficiency in radiation safety, dosimetry, and radiopharmacy procedures.
- Show competency in IV access, patient positioning, and equipment operation.
- Exhibit strong understanding of NRC guidelines and quality control protocols.
