Job Summary:
Performs all aspects of patient exams in nuclear medicine, ensuring high-quality imaging and adherence to established policies and safety protocols. Operates imaging equipment and administers radioactive substances to obtain diagnostic images for physician review.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct diagnostic nuclear medicine studies, including measuring and preparing radioactive isotopes.
• Obtain patient history, explain procedures, and address concerns to ensure patient comfort and compliance.
• Operate and maintain nuclear imaging equipment, performing routine checks and troubleshooting as needed.
• Identify, prepare, and administer medications or substances within the scope of practice as prescribed.
• Complete quality assurance and safety practices to minimize radiation exposure for patients, staff, and self.
• Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and records in both paper and electronic formats.

Qualifications:

• Registered in Nuclear Medicine with ARRT or NMTCB certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience.
• Current Michigan license verification if applicable.
• BLS certification is required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of radiation safety, instrumentation, and imaging protocols.
• Skills checklist completed within the last year for RN specialties; preferred for other professions.
