Job Details

Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room setting. Oversees perioperative activities, ensures patient safety, and collaborates with surgical teams to deliver quality care.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room by assembling instruments and ensuring sterile conditions.
• Assist surgeons and surgical team members during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.
• Monitor patient vital signs and respond to any intraoperative changes promptly.
• Educate patients and families about the surgical process and post-operative care requirements.
• Document all aspects of patient care and surgical procedures accurately in medical records.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and hospital policies throughout perioperative care.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Possess at least one year of experience in an operating room or surgical setting preferred.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of perioperative procedures and aseptic techniques.
• Exhibit excellent critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Be CPR/BLS certified from an approved vendor per AH policy.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
