Job Summary:
Provide specialized cardiac care to patients in a stepdown unit, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing post-operative cardiac patients with complex needs. This role requires a high level of clinical expertise in cardiac patient management.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor cardiac patients' vital signs, rhythms, and overall condition consistently.
• Administer prescribed medications, including titratable drips such as Cardizem, amiodarone, and heparin, following ordered parameters.
• Respond promptly to cardiac emergencies and abnormal rhythms, utilizing skills in Epicardial pacing as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, RTs, and other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Document patient status, interventions, and responses accurately in the electronic health record.
• Adhere to unit protocols, including bed and staffing ratios, and participate in self-scheduling and shift rotations.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in the state of practice.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of cardiac stepdown or ICU experience.
• Demonstrated skill in cardiac rhythm interpretation and management.
• Ability to titrate drips and respond to cardiac emergencies efficiently.
