Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to post-operative cardiac and vascular patients in a dedicated stepdown unit. Deliver comprehensive patient monitoring and support during recovery, ensuring optimal clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor post-operative cardiac and vascular patients routinely to identify changes in condition.
• Administer titratable drips such as heparin, amiodarone, Cardizem, and TPA as ordered, ensuring accurate titration.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans that meet patient needs.
• Document patient progress, interventions, and responses accurately in the medical record.
• Assist with procedures including cardiac catheterizations, TAVRs, and vascular surgeries.
• Provide patient education on post-discharge care and medication regimens.

Qualifications:

• Possess valid RN licensure with current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Demonstrate experience in cardiac and vascular patient care, preferably in a stepdown or critical care setting.
• Be proficient in titrating and managing set rate drips like heparin and amiodarone.
• Able to read and interpret cardiac strips and telemetry data.
• Exhibit excellent communication and teamwork skills to operate within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Be willing to float to sister units within the Heart and Vascular Institute.
