Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Medical Surgical and Telemetry units, ensuring quality patient outcomes through skilled interventions and assessments. Must demonstrate proficiency in phlebotomy and IV placement, integral to daily responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Administer nursing care to patients with various diagnoses including cancer, obesity, and gastrointestinal conditions.
• Perform phlebotomy and IV insertions accurately and efficiently according to facility standards.
• Monitor patient vital signs, interpret dysrhythmias, and manage rapid response teams as needed.
• Document patient assessments and interventions in the Epic electronic health record system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement care plans and ensure patient safety.
• Adhere to infection control practices and isolation precautions to prevent hospital-acquired infections.

Qualifications:

• Valid NY Registered Nurse license in hand.
• Minimum of 1-year RN experience in a hospital setting, with telemetry and dysrhythmia management skills.
• Proficient in Epic charting and peripheral IV management.
• Able to interpret and respond to cardiac dysrhythmias effectively.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications preferred.
• Strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and adapt to unit staffing needs.
