Job Summary:
The Stepdown RN provides specialized patient care for critically ill or recovering patients within a designated unit, ensuring their safety and well-being during their hospital stay. This role requires a strong clinical background and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer continuous and comprehensive care to patients on the stepdown unit, closely monitoring their condition.
• Implement treatments and interventions as prescribed by physicians, including patient assessments and vital sign documentation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system.
• Respond swiftly to patient emergencies and escalations, providing critical interventions as needed.
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards for quality patient care.

Qualifications:

• Valid South Carolina RN license or Compact license in hand prior to start.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a stepdown, ICU, or PCU setting.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NIHSS preferred.
• Demonstrate strong clinical skills and ability to float within scope to different units or facilities.
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and team collaboration skills.
