Job Details

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMU) / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown unit for patients with moderate acuity. Deliver comprehensive patient management to ensure safety, stability, and recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient condition and interpret telemetry strips to monitor cardiac rhythms.
• Administer and titrate IV medications including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetolol, Nitro, Heparin, and Lasix as needed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including hospitalists, intensivists, RTs, and pharmacy staff, to coordinate high-quality patient care.
• Manage ventilated patients using high-flow and bipap respiratory equipment.
• Document patient progress accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system and communicate any changes promptly.
• Follow unit protocols for patient safety, including managing radial bands, sheath removal, and post-procedure care.

Qualifications:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Ability to interpret telemetry strips and titrate IV drips.
• Experience in cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and intermediate care units preferred.
• Flexibility to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Demonstrated competency in managing moderate to high acuity patients.
