Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room provides specialized perioperative patient care, ensuring safety and comfort throughout surgical procedures. The nurse collaborates with surgical teams to deliver high-quality, efficient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' health status and develop individualized care plans for surgical procedures.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments, ensuring adherence to sterile techniques.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and respond promptly to any changes during surgery.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate procedures.
• Document patient care activities accurately and maintain detailed medical records.
• Provide postoperative care and education to patients and their families.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current Maine RN license with a minimum of one year of operating room experience preferred.
• Possess BLS and ACLS certifications, or obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Demonstrate strong clinical skills specific to perioperative care.
• Be a team player with excellent communication and multitasking abilities.
• Have flexibility to work various shifts, as needed.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
