Job Description
Job Summary:
Registered Nurse for a Medical Surgical unit supporting post-surgical and complex medical care. You will provide safe, patient-centered nursing in a fast-paced environment with standardized care for diverse diagnoses.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care for MedSurg populations including post-surgical recovery, orthopedics, pneumonia, dialysis needs, palliative and hospice/end-of-life support, and inpatient chemotherapy support.
- Administer prescribed medications and therapies, including heparin and comfort-focused infusions as ordered.
- Manage respiratory support therapies such as BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow care in collaboration with Respiratory Therapy.
- Perform comprehensive assessments and ongoing monitoring to identify changes and escalate concerns promptly.
- Coordinate care with charge/clinical leadership and multidisciplinary teams to meet unit needs and census-driven admissions.
- Maintain infection control readiness and safely care for patients across designated “clean” and “dirty” areas, as applicable.
Qualifications:
- Hold an active RN license in good standing.
- Maintain current BLS certification as required.
- Demonstrate MedSurg clinical competency with comfort care and end-of-life experience or strong willingness to support those patients.
- Experience with respiratory therapy modalities (BiPAP/CPAP/high-flow) preferred.
- Provide proof of an unexpired driver’s license at submission, as required.
- Disclose all professional license hits at time of submission, as required.
