Job Summary:

The TRAVEL - RN - CARDIAC STEPDOWN - COST CENTER 609 / 7:00PM - 7:00AM provides high-acuity cardiac stepdown care for patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced medication management. The RN performs bedside and hourly rounding, ensures accurate telemetry documentation, and collaborates with the care team to support safe, timely treatment.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver bedside and hourly rounding using the 5Ps to identify and report patient needs.
• Monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret rhythms, and document telemetry application with rhythm strips in the chart each shift.
• Administer and manage critical cardiac infusions, including heparin, diltiazem, dobutamine, dopamine, and amiodarone drips per protocol.
• Perform and coordinate chest tube and wound vac management, ensuring proper documentation and patient safety.
• Maintain vigilance for alarms and call-light compliance, supporting a strict “no pass zone” safety approach.
• Complete accurate charting and medication safety workflows using dispensing and point-of-care systems.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Registered Nurse license and current ACLS certification.
• Maintain BLS certification and demonstrate competence in emergency response.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac conditions and stepdown-level patient care priorities.
• Possess experience with telemetry documentation and rhythm interpretation.
• Have familiarity with anticoagulation and vasoactive/antiarrhythmic infusion management.
• Demonstrate ability to manage chest tube and wound vac patient care safely.
