Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through advanced clinical skills and critical thinking. Deliver compassionate, efficient care while maintaining compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans based on clinical findings.
• Monitor vital signs, interpret EKG rhythms, and adjust cardiac, insulin, and heparin drips accordingly.
• Perform procedures such as peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, and NG/dobhoff tube placements.
• Administer oxygen therapy using bipaps, high flow oxygen, and other delivery systems; troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Meditech system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care and provide patient education.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license and required certifications: BLS and ACLS.
• Demonstrate at least 2 years of recent experience in IMC, PCU, or stepdown units.
• Possess advanced skills in EKG interpretation, cardiac and medication drips, and patient assessments.
• Experience with complex procedures including peritoneal dialysis, wound vacs, and tube feedings.
• Able to work flexible schedules, including every other weekend, with a 12-hour shift pattern.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork abilities.
